Dear Friends, Today I share how a typical day in my life is.
First hours of my day-I and Jack my 5 year old lab wake up to the door bell for my cook at 6:00 am, a routine for the last four years now and strangely I never felt the need to have an alarm clock. My cook quickly runs into the kitchen and I lazily follow her to tell her what she needs to cook for the day.
My son who is 13 years old also wakes up around the same time, he has been an early riser always unlike my teenage daughter who sleeps longer. Both of us get ready for school helping each other and all this with the aroma of hot chapatis and curry from the kitchen.
If it is a regular day, I choose to wear a formal kurta which is easy to carry round the day and on special days I love to wear a saree.
Morning- I check my phone for any messages in the school group and my timetable for the day and quickly run through the books if required for a quick preparation. I then water my plants and then head for breakfast with my son and we both leave for school. My school is15 minutes drive from home and I love the banter with my son on the way to school.
Once I reach school, I head to my cabin, have a small prayer and quickly move to the assembly ground. The assembly activities are something that our teachers and students look forward to as each day there is a special event presented by students and one day in the week by teachers. Around 10 is me time I mean tea time, I absolutely love the cup of tea that Seema our support staff makes.
Early afternoon- I teach Chemistry to grade XI and XII and because of the administrative responsibilities I am allotted two to three periods on a regular day. My routine activities in school involves teaching, class observations, meeting parents, teachers, coordinating training activities and a daily meeting with the Principal.
My school hours are 8am to 4 pm. I reach home around 5 pm. I love the glass of watermelon juice which my daughter offers. It refreshes me and I relax and watch some shows or listen to old songs. Evening is generally completing corrections or school assignments and helping my son with his lessons.
End of the day is a simple dinner with my family.
